Dial it Down… for Clarity and Focus!
So during this journey so far I have discovered SO. MANY. POSSIBILITIES! I WANT to do ALL. OF. THE. THINGS! My head may explode! Several wise souls reminded me that I have to DIAL IT BACK because I can’t do everything at once, if only! I will never get to where I want to go if I focus on too many things at one time. I need CLARITY (one of my words for this year) for this journey!
While trying to formulate a plan for the upcoming year, I finally realized where I wanted to begin and how to be more INTENTIONAL… clarity achieved! While I don’t have the entire year planned, I have laid out plans for the next few months.
I absolutely LOVE creating digital art (especially art with a colorful, fun and often RETRO vibe) and I LOVE fabric! Some of my fondest memories are from exploring the local fabric store as a child in the 1970s! It was a huge colorful “playground” for me and an errand I never minded getting dragged on. Colors, and patterns, and textures, oh my!
I will continue to focus on creating art to sell on print on demand websites (PODs). These companies I have chosen to start with are environmentally sustainable by only printing what people order, using non-toxic inks and dyes, and conserving water.
I will be focusing on FABRIC and HOME GOODS. My art will be soon available on my Spoonflower website shop, and some is already available on my Raspberry Creek Fabrics website shop! My goal is to also have products available on an Etsy Shop which I hope to launch by the end of February! I am learning the ins and outs from some of the big wigs in the biz! Thank you Tiffany Emery and Erin Kendal who I have discovered through my classes with Bonnie Christine and Stacie Bloomfield. They are teaching me the HOW, and giving me the CONFIDENCE to EXPLORE and SOAR!
It feels so inspiring to have a (relatively) clear plan to get my business off the ground and start making some bread! It’s time to hang up the rotary phone, dab on some Skin Musk (yes, it still exists and I still love it!) and GET to BOOGIE-ING…
