“I did it”

Here I am! I can’t even believe I am soft launching my website today! Never in my past life did I even dream I would even have a website, or an actual business,

I’ll start at the relative beginning of this journey. At the beginning of this year, my midlife crisis was in FULL SWING, I was in despair and really, really needed to find my greater purpose. My house was now relatively empty as I watched my children journey on paths of their own. I have to admit I felt somewhat left behind, what am I going to do now?

At the time, I started soul searching and grasping at anything that even remotely sparked my interest especially if involved any type of creativity! Some very wise person once said (no idea who) that collecting craft supplies and creating crafts are two separate hobbies… can you guess which hobby I excelled at?

Anyway, somehow the idea of making art on the computer sparked my interest and, lo and behold, I discovered SURFACE PATTERN DESIGN, or more accurately, it discovered me! Much thanks to the algorithm gods! Early February 2022, I had no idea what a vector was or what one would ever do with a vector! That was all about to CHANGE! I began researching and learning and I took a chance and signed up for Bonnie Christine’s Immersion 2022 course (really, what was there to lose besides some time and money?) and let me just say, IT WAS LIFE CHANGING. I fell in LOVE with Adobe Illustrator, making digital art, and ALL THE POSSIBILITIES my future now held!

And perhaps the very best part of this journey is this most WONDERFUL COMMUNITY I am so glad to have become a part of! I have met some of the greatest mentors and peers over the last 9 months (Yup, it’s my new baby!) and I am so GRATEFUL and THANKFUL!

I have since taken Stacie Bloomfield’s (Gingiber) Leverage Your Art course which was jam packed with “juicy” info to get my art out into the world. I have joined her Creative Powerhouse Society Membership and Bonnie’s Flourish membership, both are wonderful for continued learning, support, and building my brand and my community. I have joined Skillshare to learn about many different things that I didn’t even know existed (ok, maybe I knew they existed, but never in a million years thought I would be doing them!)

Last month, I participated in Bonnie’s Immersion Live 2022. I knew there would be recorded replays and I could watch at my leisure. BUT, it was so EMPOWERING that I watched EVERY SINGLE MINUTE of it in real time! I also got to tell Bonnie (yup, I fan-girled just a little) and everyone else watching what had the most impact on me that day. I said I loved Colleen Underwood’s (colleenannalea) visual of creating our truths and dropping them in our swatches panel and Alisha Wielfaert’s (Yoke and Abundance) top ten list and actually putting a due date next to most important items. So I announced to EVERYONE watching that I would launch my website TODAY, November 4, 2022. And here I am!

Bonnie told us an inspiration story, and long story short (and not my story to tell), in which the key takeaway was “I did it!”

And… I DID!
